National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week, usually mid April,  is a special time set aside each spring to honour the people who donate their time and energy to their fellow citizens. It is also meant to raise awareness of the vital contribution volunteers make to our communities and to the identity and values of our country.

We recognize the importance in the power of the voluntary sector within our community and the ongoing contributions that volunteers make each and every day throughout the Cowichan Valley.

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, we invite all Cowichan organizations to take advantage of the following three ways to celebrate volunteerism in our community:

Volunteer Coffee Break

Coupons for a free cup of coffee are provided to area volunteers in appreciation of their volunteer efforts.  Coffee Break coupons are made available to Cowichan Valley nonprofits and organizations at no charge, for distribution to their volunteers, as a token of thanks for valuable skills, time and energy our volunteers give.

Leaders of Tomorrow Awards

Awards Banquet celebrating youth volunteers in the Valley.  Nominations are being now being received for those ages 6-24.  Please contact Volunteer Cowichan for a nomination form.
